Steak With Mustard Sauce
GRANNY SAYS: The creamy,
pungent sauce on this dish will make your appetite wake up and take notice! It's a great meal for Sunday's
lunch or supper.
| 1 tbsp. butter |
1/4 cup minced shallots |
| 2 tbsp. minced garlic |
1/2 cup dry white wine |
| 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard |
1 cup whipping cream |
| 2/3 cup beef broth |
2 tbsp. cracked peppercorns |
| 1 tbsp. olive oil |
1/4 cup fresh parsley |
| Two 12-ounce sirloin steaks,
about 1 inch thick, well-trimmed |

- Melt butter in heavy saucepan over medium heat.
- Add shallots and garlic and sauté about 3 minutes.
- Add wine, increase heat to high and boil until liquid is reduced
to about 1/4.
- Whisk in mustard, cream and broth and reduce again to
about 1-1/4 cups.
- Marinate steak in sauce for about 1 hour.
- Coat steak with pepper and grill until done as desired.
- Meanwhile, simmer sauce about 1-1/2 minutes, or until very hot.
- Serve steak in sauce, garnished with parsley.
