Barbecued Drumsticks
GRANNY SAYS: What's not
to love about barbecued chicken! The dark, Southern-style sauce makes it ideal for an outdoor barbecue (and
of course you can slather it over larger pieces of chicken, if you
prefer), so get out the grill, head for the patio and let's 'Cue!
| 8 chicken drumsticks |
6 tbsp. chili powder |
| 4 tsp. ground cumin |
1 cup salsa |
| 1/4 cup dark molasses |
1 tsp. brown sugar |
| 4 tsp. cider vinegar |
6 tbsp. orange juice |
| 6 tsp. grated orange peel |
Salt and pepper to taste |
- Salt and pepper drumsticks and grill for about 12 minutes, turning
several times.
- Meanwhile, combine the other ingredients in a saucepan and stir
over medium high heat until sauce thickens slightly.
- Use 1/2 the sauce to baste drumsticks as they grill about 15
minutes longer, or until sauce.
- Serve with remaining sauce.
