Superfudge Cake
GRANNY SAYS: This is
absolutely the best chocolate cake of all. So if you're going to bake chocolate cake at all . . . why waste time
on anything else?
| 1/2 cup butter |
2-1/4 cups sifted cake flour |
| 1-3/4 cups sugar |
1-1/2 tsp. baking soda |
| 1 tsp. salt |
1 tsp. vanilla |
| 1 cup milk |
3 squares bitter chocolate |
| 2 eggs |

- Melt the bitter chocolate in a double boiler.
- Meanwhile, sift the dry ingredients onto the butter in a large
bowl.
- Add vanilla and milk and beat with electric mixer for about 2
minutes on medium speed.
- Scrape bowl well and add first the melted chocolate, then lightly
beaten eggs.
- Beat for another 2 minutes and turn into two greased 9-inch pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- When the cake is cool, frost and fill with your favorite frosting.
(We think fudge frosting is best!)
