Chocolate Shortbread Cookies
GRANNY SAYS: Cookies are
the best! You can refridgerate these cookies or serve them up hot right out of the oven. This is a simple little
recipe that always comes out right!
| 3/4 cup unsalted butter |
1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. sugar |
| 1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract |
1-3/4 cups flour |
| 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips |
1/4 cup chopped nuts |
| Pinch of salt |

- Cream softened butter with sugar and add vanilla.
- Sift in flour and salt and stir until just blended.
- Add nuts and chocolate chips.
- Divide dough and press into two buttered 9-inch glass pie pans, then
cut each one into 8 wedges.
- Bake in preheated 350-degree oven until golden brown (about 20
minutes).
- Recut wedges when cookies cool.
