Chocolate Shortbread Cookies

      GRANNY SAYS: Cookies are the best! You can refridgerate these cookies or serve them up hot right out of the oven. This is a simple little recipe that always comes out right!

     

3/4 cup unsalted butter 1/2 cup plus 2 tbsp. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1-3/4 cups flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips 1/4 cup chopped nuts
Pinch of salt  
  • Cream softened butter with sugar and add vanilla.
  • Sift in flour and salt and stir until just blended.
  • Add nuts and chocolate chips.
  • Divide dough and press into two buttered 9-inch glass pie pans, then cut each one into 8 wedges.
  • Bake in preheated 350-degree oven until golden brown (about 20 minutes).
  • Recut wedges when cookies cool.
