Fudgy Saucepan Brownies
GRANNY SAYS: The only
thing better than chocolate cookies are fudge brownies. Kids will snap them up of course, but watch how grownups
go for them, too!
| 1/2 cup sugar |
1 tbsp. butter |
| 2 tbsp. water |
2 eggs, lightly beaten |
| 1 tsp. vanilla extract |
2/3 cup flour |
| 1/4 cup baking soda |
1/2 cup nuts (optional) |
| 2 cups (12-oz-pkg..) semi-sweet chocolate chips |

- Combine sugar, butter, and water in a medium saucepan and cook over
low heat until mixture comes to a boil.
- Remove from heat, add half the chocolate chips and stir until
melted.
- Add eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, and salt and stir until well
mixed.
- Add nuts and remaining chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a buttered square pan and bake at 325 degrees
for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cool, cut into squares, and frost with your favorite frosting.
