Spicy Ginger And Almond Cookies
GRANNY SAYS: More great
cookies! These will spark up a luncheon, or fill a cookie jar (for a short, short while). Also, these cookies
make great gifts put them in a tin to take to a friend you
haven't seen in a while!
| 1 3/4 cups powdered sugar |
1 1/4 cups flour |
| 1/2 cup unsalted butter |
1 tbsp. peeled, minced ginger |
| 1 tbsp. ground ginger |
1/2 tsp. cinnamon |
| 1/2 tsp. salt |
1/2 cup sliced almonds |
| 3 tbsp. whipping cream |

| 3 tbsp. chopped crystallized ginger |
|
- Reserve about 1/4 cup sugar for garnish.
- Combine the remaining sugar with flour, butter, fresh and
powdered gingers, cinnamon, and salt until the mixture resembles
coarse meal.
- Add almonds, cream, and crystallized ginger and mix into a moist
dough.
- Shape dough into small balls and press flat to about 1/4 inch
thickness.
- Dust with remaining powdered sugar and bake in preheated,
325-degree oven for 25-30 minutes until cookies are brown at the edges.
- Makes about 2 dozen.
